At Properganda we're committed to the ethics of punk rock, doing-it-yourself, saying what needs to be said and often what no one else will. It's about taking a stand and making a choice rather than following the herd. Shouting out loud what you believe in & getting your message across.

The Problem with Manufacturing:
We are keenly aware that the current state of the tee shirt manufacturing industry contributes heavily to the many problems we face as a planet - from the pesticides used by cotton farmers to the cocktail of chemicals used in dye treatment to the sweat shops the clothes are produced in. Advances in tee shirt manufacturing and cleaner, greener methods of production increasingly offer an ethical choice when it comes to fashion but often at a higher cost.

Our aim at Properganda is to search for and utilise more ethical & eco-friendly products in which to disseminate our message whilst maintaining a reasonable price tag for doing so.

We are trying to do our bit by offering our customers the choice of a growing range of organic cotton and carbon neutral clothing. We are always looking to source new types of green clothing (including recycled, fairtrade and bamboo garments) but often find the market is structured against forward-thinking labels like our own, who wish to buy small amounts of high quality, hard-wearing, eco-friendly garments at the right price. Many manufacturers are desperate to appear eco-friendly but when it comes to offering good deals to small labels requiring small numbers / small runs then the reality is that the economies of scale are levelled against us.

In our experience the only providers willing to offer the kind of economical deals required by small labels like ours are often the large (non-eco) brands.

The Simple Solution:
In reality, we'd love to be a completely green label but unfortunately, more often than not, either the consumer isn't willing to make the change or the producers can't sell at the right price. Of course the simple solution for the customer is to choose organic & put your money where your mouth is and for all the hemp, recycled & organic cotton companies to start helping us to help you... Please make the right choice and always buy organic if you can afford to.
